I’m not a massive Dr Who fan myself, but that doesn’t stop me from loving what this sensational Cyberman Voice Changer has to offer. It’s basically a helmet you stick on your head so that you can turn yourself into Cyberman - a force not to be reckoned with and who is on a mission to convert humanity to their own deadly kind!

Ok, so it didn’t actually turn Gizoo’s graphic designer into Cyberman, but it certainly gave us a lot of laughs. Every time he spoke through the helmet, his voice was transformed into cyber speak - a robotic, monotone voice. There’s loads of fun to be had with this - hearing your favourite phrases being churned out by a human’s body with a Martian’s head and voice!
If you have a fair number of people in your office that already have a monotone voice without the Cyberman Voice Changer, don’t worry there’s something for everyone here. You can set the helmet to repeat pre-recorded phases in Cyberman speak such as “You must become like us or you will be deleted.” Scary stuff eh? It’s also got a button, which when pressed, blasts out weapons effects, perfect for helping ward off those pesky intruders. And you can sign up to the Cyberman army for around £25. Bargain.

We’ve probably all heard the news about the extortionate amount of money Google bought Your Tube for - something like 2 billion dollars was it? It just goes to show how the popularity of video sharing sites is rapidly increasing. But where are the new products to follow this new trend I hear you ask!
Enter the Digital Point and Shoot Camcorder. For the first time video-sharing enthusiasts can upload their video to the net for the whole world to see in just three easy steps: shoot your film, plug the camcorder’s built-in USB arm into your computer and upload the video directly to your chosen website via the on-board software - magic!

The software also boasts loads of other useful sharing options such as one-step emailing, video greeting cards and customer-edited movie mixes.
It’s available in the US from the first week of November retailing at 130USD, but I’m sure it won’t be too long before it makes it over to our little island

My initial reaction to this was, surely this would be as much use as a solar powered torch what sun are you going to get in your living room? But then it dawned on me just how useful this gadget could be (a bit slow I know).
Featuring an “OMNI directional design” which projects 70db sound in all directions. The manufacturer claims that this is a worlds first! The Wireless Solar Speaker unit utilises an efficient class D amplifier with an energy conservation unit that provides the equivalent of a 30W output with just 5W required to power it.
Picture being sat in your garden on a summers day whilst listening to any music that you choose via any audio device, stereo, mp3 player, iPod, radio etc. (a nice thought at this time of year I know!) There’s no hassle of wires trailing around your garden or worry of the batteries running out.
The robust weather proof unit comes with a transmitter that plugs into any device which has an audio output. It then transmits the audio direct to the Solar Wireless Speaker within 150 feet.
It comes with a handy remote control that allows you to turn the speaker on or off and alter the playback volume.
When fully charged by the sun you get around 8hrs of playback time which is ideal for those summer garden parties that run into the evening. If your party goes on into the wee hours then the 8 hour battery life will mean that the sun will be coming up just when the speaker needs re-charging, letting the hardcore party goers party on through the next day! Whilst it’s still sunny you get continuous playback!
A convenient product, in my opinion, as you only tend to be in your garden when it’s sunny so when the speaker hasn’t got any charge you’re not going to want to use it anyway.
The Wireless Solar Speaker is available to buy for £120 and is available from Safield Distributions

There’s nothing worse than trying to work on a computer when it’s freezing cold. Not only can your brain start to slowly shut down but it’s next to useless trying to type when your hands feel like they are stuck in blocks of ice.
For those of you unlucky enough to work in an office, in which the temperature is comparable to Baltic conditions, you might want to investigate the possibility of getting hold of a pair of these. USB heating gloves - what a great idea!

The heated gloves are powered by plugging the attached cable into the USB port of your computer to keep your mitts nice and toasty whilst you tap away! It’s the perfect way to thaw those frozen fingers on a cold winter’s day.

Ok, so we know the iPod accessory craze has been taken perhaps a smidgen too far. We’ve had everything from boxer shorts with a special pouch, in which your iPod fits snugly, to a wallet with a built-in section for your iPod Nano and even a toilet roll dispenser with an iPod dock so you can listen to tunes whilst you do your business. But this one really takes the biscuit - The iBrella.

The iBrella lets you control your iPod through the use of motions, such as shaking, twisting, opening or closing it, so you’re gonna have to throw some shapes to hear those beats!
Simply plug your iPod into the bottom of the handle and you’re ready to roll, twist and shake. I can’t see this one flying out of the shops, or even being in the shops for that matter, but it’s original, you’ve got to give it that!

Could this be taking your liking for the marvellous Mini Cooper just a little too far? Maybe I’m just not into cars enough to appreciate this interesting concept, but in a nutshell, it appears to be a Mini Cooper turned desk.

The front half of the car is still in tact, but it looks like the rest of the interior has been ripped out to make room for a little office space. Space enough for a chair, computer, phone, files and all the other tacky desktop items you seem to have accumulated.
Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll be able to pick up one of these at your local furniture store anytime soon, but the people behind this mini invention, MiniStatements, are inviting your to direct you enquires to them at ministatements@btinternet.com

How’s this for convenience? You’ve been emailed a link to a yummy recipe on a website. But rather than print it out and risk dropping ingredients all over the precious step-by-step guide, enter the amazing Internet Chopping Board - the invention that would make kitchen life much easier!

It was featured at the Ideal Home Show a few years ago, but my amazement hasn’t ceased with time. Although its main calling in life is a chopping board, this clever design is see-through and contains a chip meaning you can actually browse the web on it. No more ruining recipe books in the kitchen, just download your favourite recipe on this nifty gadget and get chopping!
Brunel University design graduate, Charly Ingrey-Senn is the genius behind this invention, which was showcased in the Future Concepts area of the Ideal Home Show in 2003. I’ve not really heard much on it since then, which is a shame as I think it’s a great idea. Though the only downside would be risking burning/overcooking food whilst getting distracted by instant messenger on your chopping board!

If you try and sweat it out at the gym most weeks or are even partial to the odd jog, you’ll probably know what a difference it can make if you’re listening to music. Whether you’ve got a trendy iPod strapped securely to your arm or you’re happy to keep your mitts clamped tightly around your trusty CD Player, music can make all the difference to your workout, providing that much needed motivation to keep you going that bit longer. But what about whilst you’re swimming!

What a good idea (if you’re risking willing to look like spaceman whilst coasting a couple of laps around your local pool that is)! I know they’ve been around for a while, but I still think it’s a great invention.

This Waterproof MP3 Player comes complete with a set of goggles (though you could strap it onto your own) and at 128mb, you can listen to at least 30 of your favourite tunes whilst you work your way through that water. This nifty gadget will continue to play your sweet sounds for up to four hours - though anyone who swims for longer than that in one session needs a talking to if you ask me!

I remember these from years ago. Little bean-type things jumping and bouncing around the table top for no apparent reason used to keep me entertained for hours.

But now, rather than being entertainment, I am downright curious. What is the jump that lies behind the bean? This is what!

“Euuuw” is all I can say about that! My childhood memories of magical little beans hopping around in a cute fashion have instantly been dashed by this gross looking creepy crawly desperately trying to escape from its shell.
